Spicy Potato Fry

Who will not say "No" to aloo especially during rainy seasons? Yet another easy to do recipe. So beginners go ahead and make a try


Ingredients
  • Potato - 4 or 5 (depending upon the size)
  • Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - little
  • Chilly powder - 1 teaspoon or more
  • Salt - as needed
Method
Step 1 - Cutting potatoes
  • Wash and peel the potatoes
  • Cut them into thin slices or strips as shown

Step 2 - Marinating potato slices
  • Add turmeric, chilly and salt powders. Mix well with your hand and leave for 10 minutes
Step 3 - Potato Fry
  • Heat oil in a kadai and crackle mustard and jeera seeds
  • Once done add the marinated potato slices and cooked it covered in a medium flame for about 10 minutes
  • Open the lid twice (while cooking) and swirl the potatoes
  • Make sure it becomes soft
Spicy Potato Fry is ready.It goes well with Sambar Rice, Bengali Khichadi and many other rice varieties
