Broken Matta Mango Rice / Broken Matta Maanga Saadham

Mango Rice / Maanga Saadham is made during summer time due to the plenty availability of mangoes.It can be made even during Navarathri Days


Ingredients
Part 1 - Broken Matta Rice
  • Broken Matta Rice - 2 cups
  • Water - 3 cups


Part 2 - Seasoning and Saute
  • Gingelly Oil - 2 teaspoons
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Urad / Channa dhals - 1/2 teaspoon each
  • Red Chilly - 1
  • Green Chilly - 3 (slit opened)
  • Raw Groundnuts - handful
  • Raw Mango - 2 nos (grated)
  • Turmeric - little
  • Salt - 2 teaspoons


Method
Step 1 - Cooking Broken Matta Rice
  • Dry roast the broken matta rice till the raw smell goes
  • Add 3 cups of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles
Step 2 - Seasoning and Saute
  • Heat gingelly oil in a kadai.Crackle mustard seeds.Fry urad, channa , curry leaves,red and green chillies in it
  • Add groundnuts and fry till it is golden brown in colour
  • Add grated mango.Put turmeric and saute till the raw smell goes

Step 3 - Mixing 
  • Lower the flame and add cooked matta rice
  • Add salt and mix well

Broken Matta Mango Rice is ready.Serve with Raw Banana Stir Fry
